- Lightly toast oats and almonds in oven for +-10mins, making sure to shake tray in between. Once toasted, transfer to a mixing bowl. *Line a baking tray with foil and grease well. *In a saucepan add butter, sugar and honey and melt on medium heat until sugar is dissolved.
- Remove from heat and add vanilla and salt. *Add mixture to mixing bowl with oats and mix till well coated. (make sure none of the oats r dry) *Now add any extra ingredients that you like(diff nuts, raisins, coconut, dried fruit, etc). I added in some toasted rice crispies and choc chips. - PS: if adding in choc, allow mixture to cool a lil so the chocolate does not melt(+-5/10mins) - OR- i freeze my choc chips.. So i added in after mixing a few times.
- Please make sure not to add too many extra ingredients or the granola will become to dry and not hold shape.. *Pat mixture(pat tightly or it will crumble) onto your lined tray and allow to cool. *Once cool, you can melt some milk chocolate over(dark choc for a healthier option) OR you could leave them plain. *Slice and store in an airtight container..
